Our Story
Who We Are
Inner City Night Shelter Inc is a non-profit organization based in Savannah, GA. Our mission is to provide shelter, support, and empowerment to the homeless community. Focusing on compassion and respect, we aim to create a haven for those in need, offering hope and a path to a better tomorrow. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization catering to the homeless population of Savannah, GA.
We have two primary programs: Safe Haven, our emergency shelter program for adult men, and Sojourner of Savannah for adult women.

EMERGENCY HOUSING
We provide emergency shelter for men and women to spend the night, take a shower, and receive a hot meal. These are individualized through Sojourner of Savannah (for adult women) and Safe Haven (for adult men).

PRISON RE-ENTRY PROGRAM
Re-entering normal life after prison can be a difficult process. This program provides an address and place to stay for former inmates to avoid homelessness while they re-establish themselves back into society. We offer separate programs for men and women.

Executive Director
Yvonne Pryor
Yvonne Pryor is native of Statesboro, Georgia. She attended public schools in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School. Ms. Pryor attended Tuskegee University and Georgia Southern University before starting a her own business, Pryor Development Real Estate and Property Management in Savannah, Georgia, where she serves as broker and owner.
In 2005, Ms. Pryor entered the social services arena and served on the Executive Board of Inner City Night Shelter. A year later, she resigned as a Board Member and transitioned into Case Management. As a Case Manager, Yvonne was the visionary that manifested the women’s division, Sojourner of Savannah, of Inner City Night Shelter.
In her efforts to expand the programs for Sojourner of Savannah, she resigned from Inner City in August 2011. By November of 2011, five students were enrolled in Sojourner of Savannah’s Educational Training Program.
Sojourner of Savannah, like Inner City Night Shelter, is 501(c)3 non-profit organization designed to equip homeless, as well as, low-income housed women with the necessary skills to obtain various levels of self- sufficiency. Forty-eight homeless and low income housing women have completed a nine week Certified Nurse’s Aide Program, passed Georgia’s Competency Exam and are presently on the state’s registry as Certified Nurse’s Aides.
In January 2013, Yvonne was asked to return to Inner City and now serves as the Executive Director of Inner City Night Shelter and Sojourner of Savannah, Inc.
